My poems from Lit 2000 – Summer 2013
Lit in the summer
Flash of light, roar of thunder
We worship words wet
***********************************
I’m no scholar
Hollar
A wanna-be poet
I know it
Templeton at a lyrical fair
Look close, smoke from my hair
************************************
I gave up a party at the pool
So I could obtain the “Gordon Rule”
But others have been all day at toil
Fought traffic and time, for you to spoil?
And the mother of five
Who knows about her drive
Shut your mouth – turn off your phone
All this time you do not own
She is here too – for you
*****************************************
Summers wet blanket
Breath labors a sodden fold
I need a clean shirt
*****************************************
Im fifty and fighting it
Not to proud to be writing it
My youth is now ashes in my hair
Time flew by, I know not where
My body fights back refusal of its years
Wiser, so less tears
Older, some new fears
(to be continued - I hope)
Flash of light, roar of thunder
We worship words wet
